IB PYP EXHIBITION

The preparation for this school year’s Okinawa International School International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) Exhibition is currently in progress. The Exhibition is a requirement of the International Baccalaureate, the purpose being to assess the students’ understanding and celebrate their success as learners working within the framework of the programme. Hence, this is an opportunity for the Grade 5 students to present and demonstrate the culmination of their experience within the IB PYP and is, in fact, a summative assessment for them, through which their understanding of the programme principles and framework is assessed; the Exhibition will provide an opportunity for students to bring together all the subject disciplines and utilize all the transdisciplinary skills, which they have been learning and developing throughout their time in school.

This school year’s O.I.S. IB PYP Exhibition focuses on the transdisciplinary theme, How the world works. The grade 5 students have each been conducting an inquiry about technological advances and how they affect our society. To conclude their inquiry, each of the students will be presenting and sharing their investigation and convince and encourage others to take some form of positive action regarding their
research topic. We would like all of you to attend this school year’s O.I.S. IB PYP Exhibition. Please see the details below.
