Okinawa Youth Exchange Program
The purpose of this program is to provide American high school students interested in Japanese language and culture with an opportunity to learn about the culture, history, and climate of Okinawa through their experiences in Okinawa, as well as to interact with students of the same grade level, thereby creating a cross-cultural exchange.
Due to the new coronavirus, the program could not be held for three years.
This is the 15th time this program has been held after a four-year absence.
During their stay of 8 nights and 9 days, they participated in classes and events of the junior and senior high school faculties of the school, and learned about and experienced the history of Okinawa.
The one-week stay seemed to fly by, and the students were sad to say goodbye to the host families they had spent time with.
